Salmon derby's giant fish fry feeds thousands
The scale of the operation is staggering. Behind the giant tent at the 35th Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular, a couple dozen volunteers work diligently to feed an expected 2,000 hungry fish fans at the first of the derbys two giant fish fries. At 5 p.m., its estimated that 300 pounds of chopped and cubed salmon have been battered and served an hour into the four-hour fry-a-thon.
