Baltimore MD (SPX) Aug 04, 2023 - A new image of the galaxy cluster known as El Gordo is revealing distant and dusty objects never seen before, and providing a bounty of fresh science. The infrared image, taken by NASAs James Web

The telescope was able to capture images of subjects including galaxies, a giant red star, and other phenomenon that have never been seen like this before.

Thanks to a phenomenon predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity, scientists have learned important new information about an incredibly massive galaxy cluster nearly 10 billion light-years from Earth.

El Gordo is a cluster of hundreds of galaxies that existed when universe was 6.2 billion years old

Thanks to gravitational lensing and Webb's sensitivity, new details have been revealed in the El Gordo galaxy cluster.

The James Webb Space Telescope has used its infrared sensors to show us El Gordos gravitationally distorted galaxies, a red giant star and tons of other space goodies Hubble could only hint at.
