There are indications that a fourth stimulus check may be approaching as White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says it depends on Congress. More lawmakers signed letters urging for more direct payments.

The March 2021 package set aside $10 billion specifically for homeowners’ relief. This means that homeowners who are having trouble paying basic bills can request emergency funds from the government. These funds can be used towards any home-related expenses, including paying the mortgage, property taxes, homeowners’ insurance, utility bills, and other related fees.

Biden has so far avoided questions about a fourth stimulus check; White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki deflected questions about it and implied that Congress should take the lead on the issue, if Democratic legislators wanted to advance it.

According to the recently released Inequality Index by Morning Consult and Axios, economic inequality inched up to 6.5 percent this month, compared to 5.7 percent in April.

Under the current plan, the child tax credit will financially assist eligible parents through the end of this year. But if Biden’s nearly $2 trillion American Families Plan ever gets green-lighted by Congress, the credit could be extended well beyond this year—through 2025.

Of the nearly two million new checks worth more than $3.5 billion, about nine hundred thousand of them were issued via direct deposit, while the rest were delivered via paper checks or prepaid debit cards.

The report, from the Treasury Department’s Inspector General for Tax Administration, found that as of last July, 4.4 million Economic Impact Payments, at a value of more than $5.5 billion, went to those who were “potentially ineligible.”
