The stories of Filipino Americans who made their homes in the Pajaro Valley in the early 20th century, and the challenges they faced, are not commonly taught in U.S. history courses, but their stories are currently on display at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History through Aug. 4.

Sowing Seeds: Filipino American Stories from the Pajaro Valley will run from April 12 through August 4 at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art And History in downtown Santa Cruz, highlighting the vitality, struggles, and resilience of the Central Coast’s Filipino migrant community

The Tobera Project will hold its second annual Filipino American History Month festival Saturday at the Watsonville City Plaza from noon to 5pm. 

The founding Watsonville area Filipino families lent their family artifacts to UC Santa Cruz's first digital archive documenting the history of 12 families still living on the Central Coast.
