Officials identified a 21-year-old man who was arrested after investigators say he hit two police cars and fatally struck a man who was standing outside his car on I-75 southbound near the I-85 split in March.

The victim has been identified as Troy Simon. His fiancée tells FOX 5 his death devastated the entire family.

“I feel like this was an accident that didn’t have to happen,” said Williams.

Hundreds turned out to honor the life of Toby Bowden, a local wrecker operator who was killed on the interstate by a suspected drunk driver while assisting with a crash.

Lined up, for as far as the eye could see Thursday, were tow truck drivers from throughout metro Atlanta. They joined together for a touching tribute for a fellow driver killed on duty.

Marine veteran Toby Bowden was engaged to be married, friends and family shared on Facebook, and was “literally sending out wedding invitations.” Bowden, a tow truck driver, was killed while assisting at a crash scene when the driver of a speeding vehicle swerved and crashed.

Toby Bowden is remembered as a selfless, family leader who always had time to help others.
