Suprise police say the mother of 6-month-old baby Jaxson was able to trick the man holding them captive and escape on Friday morning. Those actions saved two lives.

A six-month-old baby and his mother were held hostage by Todd Marchetti, the babys father and Allie Battinstons ex-husband. During the standoff, Todd shot the baby, who later survived his injuries.

A friend of the mother says she was trying to get out of a domestic violence situation, and no one ever expected it to escalate to this extreme.
