A suburban woman who was driving the wrong way on Interstate 90 back in July, resulting in the deaths of eight people including herself, was intoxicated at the time of the two-vehicle crash.

Tom Dobosz, who was driving at the time, was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center – where he was initially reported in serious condition but did not make it.

A grieving community Monday began to raise funeral funds for five members of a Rolling Meadows family who were killed along with another child in their van and the driver of an oncoming car traveling in the wrong direction on I-90 in McHenry County early Sunday.

A mother and her four kids were killed in the crash along with another child, and the wrong-way driver was also found dead at the scene. The father of the family is hospitalized.
