The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation has vowed to raise the living standards of children who live with their imprisoned mothers in the Kingdom’s prison system, after observing some shortcomings in a recent visit.

A civil society official claimed that there were complications in providing equity cards in some villages and communes related to some elderly people who should be receiving cash support from the government.

The NGO HelpAge Cambodia has requested that the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation support elderly people by providing them with financial support, equity cards and provide funding to support community-based senior citizen associations.
