One of North America's largest sugar refiners, SucroCan, hopes to have a multi-million dollar plant online by 2025 producing a whopping million tonnes annually.

Tracey Muzzolini, co-owner of Christie's Bakery, said she has stocked up enough sugar for the holidays, but after Christmas she will need to re-evaluate where they stand.
