Students at Fremont High School drive tractors and farm equipment to school the day before spring break to celebrate Fremont's agricultural heritage.

Students, farmers and others banded together Friday to celebrate Tractor Day and National Future Farmers of America week in McCracken County.

Dozens of tractors of all different ages were on display at Aden Country Park for an annual Heritage and Tractors Day.

Forget the balloons, streamers, and painted cars, for students and staff in the Springfield Local School District, the end of the academic year means driving the family tractor to school.

Entries have now opened for this year’s Aden Heritage and Tractor Day at the popular Mintlaw park.

“The care center even canceled its activity for Friday because they knew the tractors were coming,” the former teachers mother said. “Those kids who came are a pretty special group.”
