Hyderabad, Apr 16 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya stated that though the financial year 2020-21 was witness to unprecedented challenges due to Covid-19 pandemic, the remarkable and extraordinary efforts put in by team SCR helped to earn major achievements for the Zone.
The General Manager addressed Railway Officers and Staff at the 66 th Railway Week Celebrations held virtually on Friday from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Gajanan Mallya said that the Zone has added a record 308.8 Kms track to its railway network, which is perhaps the highest addition in a financial year history of SCR. This includes commissioning of 42.5 Kms of New Railway lines, 161.5 Kms of Double Lines, 60.4 Kms of Third Lines and 44.4 Kms of Gauge Conversion works.

RailTel’s IPO to hit the market on February 16

RailTel, the public sector unit with the exclusive right of way along railway networks, has its Initial Public Offer slated next week. On offer will be 8.71 crore equity shares, 27 per cent is being divested to the public, with a price band of ₹93-94 a share.

The company, whose data centre has been empanelled with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, expects to see growth from businesses like railway signalling, e-health, online education, data centres and content on-demand, according to Puneet Chawla, CMD, RailTel.
