Temperatures dip into the upper 40s Saturday morning and it ll be partly to mostly cloudy through the day. A southwest wind keeps temperatures in the mid 70s despite those clouds. A stray shower isn t impossible, but most outdoor plans should be fine Saturday.
Sunday starts warmer and stays warmer with morning temperatures in the upper 50s and highs in the lower 80s - overall, much closer to average for this time of year. Scattered severe storms are most likely just off to our west and for us, northwest Alabama will face the threat of a strong to severe storm later in the evening. Lookouts Rally But Lose Thriller to Trash Pandas
Rocket City s Martinez Homers Three Times In 12-10 Win Friday, May 7, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus
Mike Trout may be the best player in baseball, but the Lookouts 2,550 fans probably left AT&T field believing the best player of his generation might soon have competition in centerfield. The Trash Panda’s Orlando Martinez looked like 2001 Barry Bonds reincarnated against Chattanooga and sent three towering shots over the rightfield wall in a game that also featured a late-game rally from down five, terrible baserunning, high-pressure pitching, 31 combined hits, and more. The Trash Pandas eventually won the game 12-10 in 10 innings, and the journey from blowout to extra-inning thriller was a fantastic one.

With any new franchise comes a laundry list of firsts. The first game, first hit, first home run, first win and even first rainout got checked off the list this week for the Rocket City Trash Pandas, but the team had a few others in mind during the team’s 12-10 win over Chattanooga Friday.
In the fourth game of their six-game series, outfielder Orlando Martinez became the first player in team history with a multi-home run game.
The Angels’ No. 17 prospect hit one in the first inning, giving the team a three-run lead. In the third, with the game tied at two, he became the team’s all-time home run leader with a shot over the centerfield fence. Martinez capped it off in the eighth, a two-run shot put the Trash Pandas up five as he took his third orbit around the diamond.
