Zapp s chips bag full of drugs leads to prison guard s arrest

Treasure Coast Newspapers Picking up a bag of chips off the side of a road in Port St. Lucie resulted in a prison guard’s arrest when corrections staff found her “Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle Style Voodoo” potato chips contained methamphetamine, according to arrest reports and a state prosecutor. Margaret Hammond, 25, a guard at Okeechobee Correctional Institution, in Okeechobee, is accused of attempting to smuggle in the drug-filled chip bag as she entered the prison facility April 3, records show. She’s charged with trafficking in more than 200 grams of methamphetamine and introducing contraband into a correction facility, according to an Okeechobee sheriff’s report.

Christopher Jones, 29, arrested on sexual battery, burglary charges

Treasure Coast Newspapers FORT PIERCE  A 29-year-old man was arrested after allegations he went in a woman’s home and sexually battered her, a recently-released affidavit states. Christopher Lee Jones, of the 3300 block of Avenue J in Fort Pierce, was arrested March 31 by Fort Pierce police on charges of sexual assault/sexual battery, burglary with assault or battery and battery, records show. Police on March 29 went to an undisclosed address where a person identified as the victim’s daughter said her mother had been crying. The daughter said her mother is afraid of Jones. The mother eventually told police she was in her bed upstairs when she noticed Jones in the doorway. She said he sexually assaulted her and made unwanted advances. She was described as very distraught and emotional, and went to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce for an examination.

Sheriff s deputies seize drugs, guns in St Lucie County

ST. LUCIE COUNTY   Four men were arrested after St. Lucie County sheriff s deputies reported finding several firearms and illegal drugs while executing a search warrant, according to arrest affidavits obtained Monday. Deputies arrested Carlton Celestin, 27; Carl Chisholm, 26; Jermichael Robinson, 22; and Tamarius Bembry, 19, each on a single charge of possession of a firearm by a felon. All are documented gang members, the Sheriff s Office reported.  Bembry faces two additional charges of trafficking amphetamines and possession of marijuana over 20 grams, records show.  Chisolm s listed address is in Port St. Lucie, while the rest are listed as Fort Pierce residents. After receiving tips about gunfire, the sheriff s SWAT team Friday executed a search warrant at an address in the 100 block of Devonshire Drive. The location, which is west of North 25th Street and south of Juanita Avenue, is the listed address of Celestin.
