West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee s swearing-in to be low-key due to coronavirus pandemic
The swearing-in of Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee as chief minister of West Bengal will take place at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Wednesday morning. It will be a low-key affair in view of the Covid restrictions in place in the state.

Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Wednesday morning. This will be a low-key affair in view of restrictions in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the state.

45 Assembly seats, the highest number in the eight phases, vote on April 17.
Forty-five Assembly seats spread across six districts of the State will go to polls in the fifth phase of polling in West Bengal on April 17. Of the 45 seats, 13 are going to polls in north Bengal and 32 seats will vote in south Bengal. This is the highest number of seats going to polls in any of the eight-phase marathon Assembly elections.
