According to some citizens, who have signed the petition, many are frustrated with BBMP’s decision considering that while there are so many pressing issues that need fixing around the city, the civic body is fixated on whitetopping a stretch that is in good condition. They say the downsides of whitetopping far outweigh the benefits of the project. The most pressing concerns post whitetopping they highlighted are waterlogging alongside potential flooding.

The police also said all the flyovers, except the elevated road heading to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), will be closed between 11 pm on December 31 and 6 am on January 1.

Shyam Devaraj, another realtor, added, “The proposed tunnel road spans across Bengaluru, aligning with the city’s growth in all directions, and is poised to drive further urban expansion and property growth.”
