Homestead hosts e-waste collection

The Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation’s latest round of grant funding will support local organizations specifically geared toward serving vulnerable youth and their mental health.

Jean Ikeda took over from Carol Olson, who announced earlier this year that she would be leaving after leading the organization since 2019. The nonprofit recruits and trains volunteers to work with students in local schools.

Los Altos-based nonprofit Mentor Tutor Connection provides hundreds of local students with mentors and tutoring each year, helping to ensure that they have caring adults invested in their future.

Mentor Tutor Connection has scheduled an information session to highlight volunteer opportunities noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.

Maria joined the Mentor Program as an 11th grader because she wanted someone to talk to and saw the value in having another caring adult in her life. Mentor Tutor Connection had just the right person.

Montclaire offers new-parent info night Montclaire Elementary School is scheduled to host its annual kindergarten and new-parent information meeting 7-8:30 p.m. Monday (Jan. 11) via Zoom.
