Circle Centre Mall first opened in 1995 as a way to attract people back to downtown Indianapolis. Former deputy mayor John Krauss says the city can rely on Circle Centre Mall again, but in order to do that it needs to change with the times.
The development company that owns Circle Centre Mall has sold its interest in the mall to a property management company that has already left a footprint in downtown Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A customer fired a gun at a person who had taken goods from a Circle Centre Mall jewelry store on Monday afternoon, says the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
IMPD says no one was injured.
Authorities were looking for a suspect after a shot was fired about 2:30 p.m. Monday at Twin Jewelers during what was initially described as an armed robbery, police said. The store is on the second level near the food court.
“I was outside the store waiting for customers to come in and then we heard a big bang and then people, we just saw people sprinting the other way and people were yelling, ‘There is a shooter,'” said Madison Carter, who works at a store just below Twin Jewelers.

INDIANAPOLIS — Shots were fired outside of a jewelry store inside Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis Monday afternoon.
Police say they are looking for two people. One who they say was the thief who tried to steal necklaces by jumping over the counter of the store. Another who fired a shot at the thief as he ran towards the food court.
“No customers were injured to our knowledge at this point, as well as no employees,” said IMPD public information officer William Young. “If there was one shot or multiple shots that will come out in the investigation too.”
