When Jack Carpenter and Matt Whalen rolled into Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning, they planned on grabbing some footage and scoring a few interviews with people at the Save America rally for their Capital Region-based media and entertainment company, Two Buttons Deep.
Instead, they ended up in the middle of a history-making mob where some rioting protesters broke barriers and smashed windows as they took over the U.S. Capitol. Four participants and one police officer died in the violent melee.
