There are several contested races to watch, including a two-way race for Town Moderator. Five people are vying to fill two open seats on the Select Board, and there's also a two-way race for an open seat on the School Committee. All but three of Brookline's 16 precincts have races for Town Meeting members. There are also two ballot questions this year.

So far, 18 people have declared an interest in running for townwide office. There have been 83 people have taken out papers indicating they want to run to represent their precinct as a Brookline Town Meeting member. But no one has yet stepped up to run for the office of Town Clerk.

The Milford Daily News ASHLAND — It’s been just two weeks since residents voted at a special election for a new public safety building and a rebuild of the David Mindess School, but town officials are already gearing up for May’s annual election.  Seats are open for the Select Board, Board of Assessors, School Committee, Board of Library Trustee, Board of Heath, Housing Authority and Planning Board.   Select Board members Yolanda Greaves and Robert Scherer are up for re-election for three-year seats on the board. As of Monday morning, Greaves has taken out papers, and Scherer has not, he said when reached Monday morning that he plans to run again.
