No. 10 Alabama got back in the win column on Saturday, but it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t pretty at all.

Like a well dressed matador, the Crimson Tide narrowly escapes the Bulls.

After a tough Alabama-South Florida football game, Nick Saban says the team did one thing well among Ty Simpson, Jalen Milroe QB controversy.

Alabama started quarterback Jalen Milroe in the opener Saturday night against Middle Tennessee State. Milroe emerged from a three-man battle in fall camp to at least win the first-game nod, beating out Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner and former five-star recruit Ty Simpson. Milroe spent last season as backup to Bryce Young, who went on to be the first overall NFL draft pick.

Jalen Milroe turned a bad snap into an improbable touchdown run. Milroe threw three long touchdown passes and ran for a pair of scores, including one where he turned a potentially huge loss into a dash to the end zone, to lead No. 4 Alabama to a 56-7 season-opening victory over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday night. Milroe emerged on top of a three-man battle to replace Bryce Young in fall camp for the Crimson Tide, and delivered big plays and no costly mistakes in his second career start.

Alabama coach Nick Saban didn’t reveal his No. 1 quarterback this week or any other starter for that matter. Saban canceled the annual opening week depth chart reveal party heading into the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide’s Saturday night debut against Middle Tennessee State. Saban will let everyone know ... right about game time.

The Fox Sports personality is not happy with Saban's decision to not release a depth chart.

The quarterback battle continues to get more and more intense heading into the season.

Between Tyler Buchner, Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson, what Alabama quarterback gives the Crimson Tide the best shot at beating Georgia, now and in the future?
