Tyreece Simpson News Today

Midfielder Tommy Hughes has signed the new six-month deal

The Blues host Huddersfield Town live on Sky Sports in their biggest match for 22 years on Saturday, knowing a point will take them back to the Premier League (KO 12.30pm).

Armando Dobra starts but there is no place for Tyreece Simpson in the U23s side taking on Peterborough at London Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).

Town boss Paul Lambert admitted the Blues’ last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Blackpool was a “sore one” believing his side deserved to take all three points let alone draw the fixture.

Freddie Sears and Teddy Bishop both start for Town as manager Paul Lambert makes four changes for the game at Blackpool.

Blues boss Kieran McKenna says he had a chat young striker Tyreece Simpson this week and says it’s not impossible that the 20-year-old could break into the first team squad in the remaining months of the season.

Town’s U18s are in action away against Coventry City at The Alan Higgs Centre on Saturday afternoon (KO midday).

Town have recalled striker Tyreece Simpson from his season-long loan at League Two Swindon.

Recalled striker Tyreece Simpson says he wouldn’t have changed a thing about his loan spell with Swindon, which the Blues brought to a premature end earlier today.

Blues boss Kieran McKenna says the new deal signed by midfielder Cameron Humphreys is a reward and a sign of commitment on both sides.
