Student teaching assistant Ryan Chang will earn two associate of applied arts degrees in May (one specializing in culinary arts and the other specializing in baking and pastry). He played a key role in the college’s emergency production of thousands of meals in the aftermath of the August wildfires.
Culinary students at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College organized about 1,600 boxes of produce that were distributed to students and community members impacted by the August wildfires.
An estimated 650 Thanksgiving meals were served on Wednesday under an annual community service partnership between the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College and The Salvation Army.
World Plate and Paniolo Grill are both open this semester, doubling the number of lunch options from last semester at UHMC’s Pā‘ina Market. Both of these outlets are run by students in the college’s award-winning culinary arts program.
