A Delhi court on Monday granted seven-day interim bail to student activist Umar Khalid, in the case relating to the "larger conspiracy" of 2020 Delhi riots, to attend his sisters marriage.

The judge – who is second in seniority only to CJI D.Y. Chandrachud – made these observations while the top court was hearing an application filed by Sharjeel Imam, who is an accused in the Delhi riots conspiracy case.
