Reply May 18, 2021 The Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission organized a team to tackle debris in the Berkeley Heights section of Union County s Passaic River Park. Subscribe Union County, NJ – A section of Union County s Passaic River Park received a sprucing-up from an all-ages team of volunteers organized by the Berkley Heights Environmental Commission last weekend, as part of Union County Adopt-a-Park program. The volunteers removed trash, scrap metal, tires, and other debris from a trail that runs through a section of the park between Station Street and Summit Avenue in Berkeley Heights. The team included local residents and officials including Berkeley Heights Mayor Angie Devanney, members of the Berkeley Heights Township Council, and Union County Board of Commissioners Chairman Alexander Mirabella.

This free event will take place at the Union County Scout Camping Area in the Watchung Reservation in Mountainside on Thursday evening, June 10 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Pre-registration is required by filling out the online form at ucnj.org/plant-swap. Subscribe Pink, lavender, white, red, blue, and yellow flowering native plants are available for swap including swamp milkweed, beebalm, creeping phlox, wild senna, and hummingbird-friendly calico beardtongue and cardinal flower.
