On Saturday, rank-and-file candidate for UAW president Will Lehman wrote to Thomas Murray, Detroit-Milwaukee District Director of the Department of Labor’s Office for Labor-Management Standards, objecting to the withholding of Curry’s election protest.

The DSA is working to provide a counterfeit “left” cover for the nationalist, pro-capitalist perspective which the UAW bureaucracy bases itself on.

Lehman’s complaint contains new and damning information on the close relationship between the Monitor and the auto companies, requiring the Monitor’s removal from a re-vote.

The conclusion of the second round of the UAW national officers’ election has proven definitively that the election was a fraud conducted with contempt for the rights of the rank-and-file membership.

The date for mailing ballots in the second round of the UAW election has passed, and only 136,114 workers have cast votes, or 12 percent of eligible members.

GM Flint workers contrasted the UAW bureaucracy’s silence on its own election with their energetic promotion of the Democrats in the federal midterm elections.

Lehman submitted additional reports, based on information forwarded to him by workers, that the UAW Locals did not update the Local Union Information System with rank-and-file members’ contact information.

Autoworkers have responded with anger over the effort to run roughshod over their democratic rights and install a president who has no legitimacy.

The court-appointed Monitor has not responded to Lehman’s official protest and is proceeding to conduct the second round between Shawn Fain and Ray Curry.
