A doctor couple had a miraculous escape on Tuesday when the car in which they were travelling caught fire on the Purvanchal Expressway, officials said.

Three junior doctors of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College here were suspended after being booked by police for allegedly assaulting the relatives of a boy who was brought to the hospital for treatment, officials said on Tuesday.

The doctors who have been sacked with immediate effect on the instructions of Deputy CM Pathak for being absent from duty for a long time have been identified as Dr Rajesh Gupta posted at PHC Machrehta (Sitapur) and Dr Priyank Pratap Singh posted at PHC Chowrangahar, Jaitpur Kalan (Agra).
