Upper Level Low News Today

The Kansas Highway Patrol said 209 non-injury crashes and 28 injury crashes were reported.

Along with heavy snow, thundersnow is possible overnight into early Tuesday morning in the metro area.

Authorities in Kansas and Missouri have responded to dozens of crashes across their respective states.

While the heaviest snow in the KMBC viewing area will be north of the metro, much of the State of Kansas is seeing significant snowfall.

High temperatures will be fairly mild again near 60 degrees this afternoon.

An Upper Level Low  ("U" shape) is moving eastward and will weaken the moisture flow to the Pacific Northwest to be replaced by a High Pressure Ridge ("Arch" shape). The graphics for days 1-3  show the frontal system, show no frontal systems approaching the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7  Saturday through next Wednesday show a quiet weather pattern with a frontal system lingering offshore next Wednesday.
