In the vast tapestry of India, where the pursuit of cleanliness and equitable sanitation services is a challenging mission, women sanitation workers are the unsung heroes who stand as beacons of hope and catalysts for change.

Numerous NGOs and grassroots organisations are working hard to dispel these attitudes and mindsets. Harpic, as India's leading brand in the lavatory care segment has a deep and nuanced understanding of the challenges women sanitation workers face, and particularly so, of those who hail from lower castes.

In India, sanitation work has been marked by stigma for generations. This stigma stems from the fact that such work is considered menial and unskilled, leading to the perception that those engaged in it are somehow 'less than' others.

One group of unsung heroes who exemplify this spirit are the women sanitation workers who tirelessly serve in our local neighbourhoods.

In the unorganised sector, they have no access to grievance mechanisms or legal aid to address their issues or complaints.
