A doctor in Uttar Pradesh is facing charges for alleged medical negligence after removing a womans uterus instead of her gallbladder. The patient sought help for recurring abdominal pain during the Covid-19 lockdown in May 2020 and underwent surgery to remove her gallbladder. However, the pain returned in 2023 and it was found that her gallbladder still contained stones and her uterus was missing.
