Renske Cox and Maarten van Pel proved electric travel in Africa is possible after reaching Cape Town eight months after leaving the Netherlands.

The pair spent just over 800 hours in the car from the Netherlands, through West Africa and down to Cape Town, South Africa.

This was the hiding place, during World War II, where the Frank family and four other people retreated together in hiding for more than two years, to escape the Nazis.

Renske Cox and Maarten van Pel are leaving for South Africa in November traveling with an electric car and an off-grid charging system.
