Since January, 69 districts have reported dengue cases. Over 1,100 people have tested positive.

Dengue Cases Found In 57 Districts

A two-week-long campaign starting Sunday could be the last in Nepal.

Dengue spreading mosquitoes, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, also transmit Zika and Chikungunya virus.

The two-week-long campaign will be launched in Feb-March.

Experts say previous presumptions about the virus have become irrelevant as its spread has continued in the winter and also in mountainous districts.

At least 20 people died from the virus that has reached all 77 districts. Experts blame climate change for the spread.

Over 39,000 have tested positive for it since January.

Over 3,900 people have contracted the disease so far this year. Doctors say mis-diagnosis and delay in diagnosis and treatment of the infection lead to severity and deaths.

This year, over two dozen people have died and more than 35,000 have been infected with the dengue virus.
