The idol of 'Ram Lalla' was carved by Arun Yogiraj - a famed sculptor from Karnataka. The idol is 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes. The idol portrays Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus also crafted from the same stone. During the 11-day spiritual journey, PM Modi is diligently following practices prescribed by sacred texts. These include sleeping on the floor, consuming only coconut water, engaging in Gau-pooja (cow worship), and various forms of daan, such as anna daan and donating clothes.

The Vedic ritual began on Jan 16 ahead of the scheduled date of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya temple on Jan 22 and the on the fourth day before of the ongoing rituals the holy fire was lit. 

As the nation gears up for this historic event, the central govt and several states have declared public holidays underscoring the cultural and religious significance attached to the Ayodhya Ram Temple Pran Pratistha ceremony.

Crafted by the skilled hands of Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, the 51-inch Ram Lalla idol, carved from black stone, portrays Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing tall with a golden bow and arrow.
