Downtown Burlington may be in for a makeover.
With the help of a Des Moines-based engineering firm, downtown Burlington will see plans for revitalization after the city council reviews final plans in July.
“We want to be moving forward and continue to build on momentum,” Bethany Wilcoxon, senior advisor at McClure Engineering, told the Burlington City Council Monday night.
Last year, the city received a Creative Placemaking grant through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The $35,000 grant will be paired with a local match donated by various local groups to create a plan that will give downtown Burlington a more cohesive look. A total of $57,250 is allocated for the planning portion of the project.

For those wanting to know if they have been infected by COVID-19 in the past and are not experiencing symptoms, Hy-Vee will be offering antibody testing soon to give you those answers.
On Thursday, Hy-Vee announced that they will begin offering COVID-19 rapid antibody testing at more than 250 Hy-Vee pharmacy locations. This antibody testing will be available starting on Monday, January 18.
According to Hy-Vee officials, the rapid antibody test is available for patients who wish to learn if they have been previously infected with COVID-19 in the past and are not currently experiencing symptoms. After getting the test, patients will receive same day test results in as few as 15 minutes via email after completing the test.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Hy-Vee stores is expanding its COVID-19 antigen testing program to 14 additional locations is Iowa on Monday.
Four stores have already been offering the rapid testing option where patients get results in 1-2 hours after completing the swab test.
Hy-Vee also administers the PCR COVID-19 test which requires 3-5 business days before results are known.
The new rapid antigen testing is being administered through an outdoor, drive-thru process. PCR tests are conducted the same way.
Hy-Vee is currently searching for more than 1,000 pharmacy technicians to assist with testing, and with COVID-19 vaccinations, once they become available.

Hy-Vee will be getting COVID-19 test results back to patients faster as they will begin offering rapid antigen testing at select stores.
Hy-Vee announced on Wednesday that they will offer rapid antigen COVID-19 testing at more than 40 Hy-Vee pharmacy locations throughout the Midwest.
This testing will be done via an outdoor, drive-thru testing process at 47 Hy-Vee pharmacies. The first 18 locations will begin testing today, Thursday, December 10. The remaining 29 locations will begin testing over the next two weeks.
Patients will receive same day test results in as little as 1-2 hours after completing the test.
