Venture Intern Program News Today

Elizabeth Quinn has been chosen to lead the statewide expansion of the Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program, a business incubator launched at the U of A focused on the outdoor recreation industry.

Located at the Bentonville Collaborative, the Greenhouse will provide broad small business support and deep product incubation for outdoor recreation entrepreneurs.

Honors students gained valuable small business experience through the Venture Internship Program while also getting inspiration for their honors research.

The  Venture Intern Program pairs undergraduate students with early-stage ventures, entrepreneurship support organizations, regional accelerator programs and investor networks across Northwest Arkansas for a semester.

Colleagues from across campus share information on consulting, market research, creating internship programs, the School of Arts Community Design Clinic and various workshops.

New startups include digital platforms for connection, product sales and educational services. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission is sponsoring two companies with hunting and fishing in mind.

The third cohort of the universitys outdoor recreation incubator featured two companies that pivoted from their original proposal, a milestone that was long awaited by the programs director.

The program includes a paid, 12-week assignment with a host organization, as well as supplemental training opportunities, cohort meetings and coaching/support from experienced mentors. Apply by May 26.
