We want to welcome you to the Martin Luther king, jr. 50year memorial commemoration. My name is aaron grisell, the executive director of the Northern California dr. Martin luther king, jr. Community foundation and again, we want to welcome you here today. On april 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in memphis, tennessee, dr. King, guess it was around 6 30 in the afternoon, weary body, tired, came out and they were headed out to a meeting and, rang out, standing on the landing there at the Lorraine Motel, with 3 or 4 folks, Jesse Jackson on one side, and shots rang out and hit dr. King. He fell and was pronounced dead at the hospital and was moved to a mortuary about six blocks from the motel. That shot changed america. It changed america in a way that enlivened our senses to what it means to treat persons as persons. That all of us are persons. And all of us have human dignity, inately, in and of ourselves. The day after dr. King died, nearly 7,000 people were standing outside at Civic Cen

good morning, everybody, interstate 80, not a bad commute. later in the morning, we are obviously starting to see slower traffic, but this morning, it looks good if you are traveling through fairfield in palo alto, a frightening ordeal reported over the weekend. what makes this even scarier, after the alleged attack happened, the suspect returned to the victim s home and contacted her. the 35-year-old was arrested by police for felony sexual battery and police say the driver dropped off a man and a woman at a home. near the city line between pal tallet toe. this was on saturday and the woman said she called the driver of the realizing that she and her husband left a phone in the car. the victim went outside to meet him and retrieve the car. after he gave the phone to her, he kissed her and groped her breast. she immediately pushed him away and ran back inside of her house. reporter: the woman reported the incident to uber an hour later, police say the driver called the
