How Chandrayaan-3 took India to the moon

On August 23 at 6:34 pm BDT, India's unmanned moon flight Chandrayaan-3 made history by successfully landing on the surface of the moon. This is the first time India has achieved a lunar landing via a spacecraft, with the latest mission being the third iteration of the Chandrayaan space programmes hosted by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

chandrayaan: Chandrayaan 3: Post touchdown, Rover to embark on 14-day activities on lunar surface

According to ISRO, Lander and the Rover have five scientific payloads which have been placed inside the Lander Module (LM). Rovers Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer (APXS) will be used to derive the chemical composition and infer mineralogical composition to further enhance the understanding of the lunar surface. Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS) will determine the elemental composition of the lunar soil and rocks around the Moons landing site.
