Tufani, a Masai giraffe at the Roger Williams Park Zoo, has died, the zoo announced Friday afternoon. The 9-year-old giraffe had shown signs of gastrointestinal complications, prompting the zoo to bring in "numerous veterinary experts to help plan a course of treatment," but despite those efforts, Tufani died Thursday, the zoo said in a news release.
