Historic North Augustas last action before it de-incorporates is to entrust preservation to Aiken County Historical Society, donating $2,000 toward its plan of adding historical markers in North Augusta.

The nearly 125-year-old Dixie Highway Hotel in Edgefield Town Square has gained strong interest from a developer who would rehab it as an adaptive reuse project.

The lowest bid, received this month, for consolidating and upgrading the almost 50-year-old Clay Street pump station was $4.67 million, or almost 50% more than the original estimate of $3.12
