Coastal regions across south-east Queensland are being told to prepare this morning for tides up to 30 centimetres higher than usual king tides, following days of severe weather across the state.
Key points:
Seqwater says Little Nerang and Wappa dams are over capacity and spilling
The low-pressure system is expected to move inland in the coming days, offering some hope for drought-stricken farmers
Parts of the state have recorded hundreds of millimetres of rainfall since Friday and winds up to 100 kilometres per hour.

HERE S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW: â Sunshine Coast region received more than 200mm of rain over the past three days and wind gusts reached up to 90 km/h. â Maleny recorded one of the highest rainfalls in the past 24 hours, reaching 211mm. â Northern Bribie Island overtopped during the deluge and council crews are monitoring the situation closely. â A strong wind warning was issued for Sunshine Coast waters and Moreton Bay and a flood warning was issued for Noosa River and other Sunshine Coast rivers and creeks.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast thunderstorms to hit southeast Queensland this afternoon, continuing the region s wet weekend with more severe conditions. Coastal parts of Brisbane to the Gold Coast and Wide Bay & Burnett areas are mostly likely to receive the severe storms this evening, with a possible storm predicted for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt region.
