A Ware County firefighter was charged with DUI manslaughter for a crash in June that killed another firefighter, according to a booking report.

Luke Zimmerman, 26, faces charges of vehicular homicide, DUI, driving too fast for conditions and failing to maintain lanes, according to Ware County Jail records.

A former juvenile corrections officer in Georgia was arrested and charged with murder this week after a boy in his custody died during a "fight game."

Thomas Lee Hicks, 30, of Waycross, was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with one count of second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree cruelty to children, and one count of violation of oath of office.

The GBI has arrested Thomas Lee Hicks, age 30, of Waycross, GA and charged him with one count of murder in the 2nd degree, two counts of cruelty to children in the 2nd degree, and one count of violation of oath of office in connection to the death of a juvenile at the Waycross Regional Youth Detention Center, where Hicks was a juvenile correctional officer.
