Warmer Weekend News Today

Much of Montana had lows in the 0s and 10s and the cold air is not going anywhere yet, but the airmass will modify this weekend.

A pesky little storm with some showers of rain and snow and a lot of wind will move through Montana before a major warmup toward the weekend.

It's been a while since the last significant wind blew across the state. Enjoy it because several days of wind will howl across the state especially this weekend.

Thursday will be a strong reminder that it is still winter in Montana as areas of moderate to heavy snow will move through parts of the state with temperatures 20 degrees below normal.

Montana is once again facing sub-zero temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills but this will not be as severe or prolonged as the last arctic outbreak.

It's been a stretch of "Real Montana Winter" as another blast of snow, arctic air and frigid wind chills move through.

A cold front moving through the state will quickly end the mild and dry weather with rain, falling temperatures, and eventually falling snow levels.

More wind will plague the state again on Wednesday but the storm will be moving away so at least there will be abundant sunshine.
