WARREN, Pa. The Warren woman charged in connection with the drowning death of her 2-year-old child in Hatch Run last August has pleaded guilty to felony child endangerment.
Nichol V. Barrett, 25, 3435 Conewango Ave. entered the plea before President Judge Maureen Skerda on Thursday at the Warren County Courthouse.
Barrett and her husband, Richard, were both charged with three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child in October.
District Attorney Rob Greene said that the child is “deceased due to the criminal act.”
He said Barrett has “suffered” as a result of the “horrible event” but “should still pay the price.”

FALCONER Local officials are awaiting word on whether year-long efforts to keep a longtime company in Chautauqua County pay off.
Mark Geise, chief executive officer of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency, confirmed Monday that Truck-Lite has been looking at possibly relocating about 100 employees from its longtime home on East Elmwood Avenue in Falconer. It is believed the manufacturer of truck and trailer safety lighting is viewing three potential options: remain in Chautauqua County at a new, more economically feasible location; move to a new site to be constructed over the state line in Warren County; or move operations to the Erie, Pa., region.

Michelle Johnson-Anderson, right, is pictured with Amanda Merchant. Johnson-Anderson has been an instructor for the licensed practical nursing program at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES for almost two decades.
Michelle Johnson-Anderson never intended to become a nurse. It was a guidance counselor at Panama Central School in New York who pointed her in that direction.
That advice ultimately set into motion what ended up being a 40-year career in the field, early on at Warren General Hospital and with the last half as an instructor for the licensed practical nursing program at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES. During that time she has helped guide aspiring nurses into countless careers in hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes and management.
