On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, water will be temporarily turned off between the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to replace two water main valves. Affected customers are asked to take any and all precautions necessary to protect their property and facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure and/or water supply, and which might be damaged during the water shut-off.
Areas affected by the shut off will include: Kahana Drive, Kalehua Road, Kalōpā Mauka Road, Kalaniai Road and the lower portion of Waikaʻalulu Road in Hāmākua.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) â Some landlords shut off water to their properties in an effort to reduce or prevent damage to pipes due to a hard freeze during this winter storm, the city of Shreveport reports.
A KSLA News 12 viewer said it happened to her mother and 59 other tenants. The â. landlord turned their water off because he does not want to pay to have pipes replaced during this bad weather,â she says in an email sent Sunday afternoon.

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WVIR) - Monday night, Waynesboro City Council reinstated the cityâs ability to cut off utilities for residents who havenât paid their bills, but only as a last resort.
The vote was unanimous, but the City insists it wants to work with its citizens whoâve experienced hardship due to the pandemic.
In November, Governor Northam enacted a bill to temporarily postpone utility disconnections for residents during the COVID-19 emergency.
