MADISON TOWNSHIP — Amanda Harris had a pen and paper ready at Madison Township’s board of trustees meeting Tuesday to write down areas to inspect for zoning code compliance.

During a special meeting Thursday, the Madison Township trustees hired Amanda Harris as the new zoning inspector and finalized summer road paving.

Madison Township has been without a permanent zoning inspector since last August. That could soon change as trustees prepare to interview candidates.

Madison trustees have taken personnel actions to keep township business moving smoothly including hiring a temporary zoning officer.

The trustees have tentatively approved the fire chiefs proposal to buy a used ambulance rather than a new one.
