Multiple people, including one of the shooters, called Horry County dispatchers to report the shooting that happened near S.C. 9 in the Longs area.

The shooting occurred on Camp Swamp Road near Longs Sept. 9. Weldon Boyd, owner of Buoys on the Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach, allegedly shot and killed Tabor City man Scott Spivey in the incident.

Weldon Boyd, operator of Buoys on the Boulevard, has not been charged. The Solicitor’s Office is asking for a state review of case.

Solicitor Jimmy Richardson on Friday sent a letter to the S.C. Attorney Generals office, requesting the agency review Horry County Police Department and the state Law Enforcement Divisions work into the investigation.
