One of my favorite activities is to see FNS programs in action. Therefore, as often as I can, I try to visit schools that know how to have fun while feeding kids healthy meals. Recently, I had the chance to visit Rialto Unified School District (RUSD) and learn about their success in doing just that. They just earned USDA’s 2022 Turnip the Beet Gold Award, two years in a row!

As COVID-19 cases are slowly decreasing across Colorado, Poudre School District has made a full return to in-person education. Elementary schools moved to Phase 4 learning on Jan. 19, meaning they are completely in person. Middle and high schools transitioned to Phase 4 from hybrid learning on March 22. The February 10 survey reveals 895 outbreaks under active investigation and 2,806 considered resolved, for a total of 3,701 over the course of the pandemic. Thats an increase of 124 in the week since our February 3 update, which totaled 3,577 outbreaks (924 active, 2,653 resolved).
