WATERBURY â The Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging offers an in-home version of the popular Live Well With Diabetes workshop for adults with diabetes or pre-diabetes in the comfort of their home without having to use technology beyond the telephone.
A new group will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, beginning March 20.
This program helps participants learn new skills to manage their diabetes.
Once a week for six weeks, a trained Live Well leader will facilitate the one- hour group phone calls to help enhance the experience and to alleviate social isolation during this time.
Participants will learn about healthy eating, high and low blood sugar, being active, sick day guidelines, tips for dealing with stress, foot care, making weekly action plans and how to set small and achievable goals.

Due to state mandates and guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, some senior citizen services may have curtailed operations and activities for the time being. Many senior centers are operating on a limited in-person basis or have moved some or all programming online.

LITCHFIELD “An Evening of Classical Music with Stephanie Ruddy, Tyler Gauruder & Sarah Barrett” on Zoom will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 14.
Their performance will include the following pieces: Partita No.2 for solo Violin in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach; Passacaglia for Violin & Viola by George Frideric Handel; and String Trio in G major, Op. 9 No. 1 by Ludwig Van Beethoven.
Stephanie Ruddy has been playing and studying classical violin for almost 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Hartford and Suzuki Method teaching certification from the Hartt Suzuki Institute. In addition to teaching from her home in Litchfield, she is a freelance performing violinist for various orchestras a
