It wasn’t her father, who’s serving a sentence of up to 25 years, but rather his bunkmate.  And the bunkmate had news: Brooks dad had collapsed. He had COVID-19. “If my dad’s bunkmate hadn’t reached out to me, we would not have known any of this had taken place,” said Brooks, 50, who works as a staff associate at the University of Kentucky’s College of Law. Her father, Willard Morrison, was convicted in 2007 of attempted murder and is housed at the Southeastern Correctional Institution in Lancaster.
