Updates to the saga of the Ormsby House in Carson City are few and far between, but recently, the sales listing of Carson City’s largest vacant gaming and hotel institution has been updated. It is being listed for $16,750,000.

The Ormsby House is now in escrow and the new owner has some interesting plans for what to do with Carson Citys historic building.

In celebration of the coming 20th anniversary of the beginning of the Ormsby’s house renovation — scheduled to be completed on July 4, 2001 — I bring you the history of the fabled and unfortunate but still beloved Ormsby House Hotel and Casino.

Joe D’Angelo says he has spent the majority his life helping people. After several failed attempts to bring large-scale community projects to different cities in Nevada, he has now set his sights on Carson City to make his “Joshua’s Community” dreams come to life with the purchase of the Ormsby House.
