William Post, the man credited with inventing Pop-Tarts, has died. He was 96 years old. Post died Saturday, Feb. 10, according to MKD Funeral Home.

William Post, inventor of Pop-Tarts, passed away at the age of 96. He is credited for creating the popular toaster pastry in just four months.

Kellanova, formerly known as Kellogg Co., said in a statement that Post “played an important role in co-creating the iconic Pop-Tarts brand."
